WinU's full-screen Simplified Replacement User Interface is much
easier to use than the standard Windows taskbar, desktop icons, Start button, etc.
There are many ways to customize the WinU screen.
The built-in background wallpaper (with the WinU logo) can be replaced with
any image you like. The button color, layout and placement can be modified. The
menu bar and status bar can be hidden, and the roving title-bar button
can be customized. If the WinU desk has more than one screenful of buttons
a scroll bar appears.
This Simplified Replacement User Interface is easily customized by the
administrator but cannot be changed by the end-user.
Each WinU computer can manage a thousand different
"desks" (screens like these), controlling up to a million different programs.
If the administrator sets up links, users can navigate between desks.
Each desk can have its own layout, program buttons, and settings.
